digital photographyDigital photography is a type of photography that makes use of certain technology to create digital images. Before all the new technology with cameras was released, photography used only photographic film in order to create pictures that could be seen by means of photographic processing. Without the use of chemical processing, digital photography images can be printed, displayed, stored, archived, transmitted and manipulated using certain computer software and techniques.

Digital photography is part of many different types of digital imaging, and is also formed by other non-photographical equipment like radio telescopes and computer scanners. Another way in which digital images can be made is by scanning conservative images.

The sensors of a camera used to shoot digital photography read the strength of light as it passes through all the different filters of colour, and the digital memory devices are what store the images and information. The way in which it is stored is either as natural raw data or as RGB colour space. There are mainly two different types of sensors that can be found in digital cameras, these are; CMOS sensors - also known as active pixel sensors and a (CCD) or charge coupled device.

Most of the cameras that are manufactured in this day and age have built-in flash memory or they use memory cards. Memory cards can be of different sizes (internally) and this is what you will use to determine how many pictures you can store on it at a time. From the memory card you will then use a flash drive to transfer the pictures to your computer. Otherwise you can get a cable with the camera that will enable you to transfer the images. These are all the things you have to take into consideration when you are purchasing a digital camera, make sure you have all the necessary equipment.
